About La Gazette du Mauvais gout

Dora Moutot.

Fashion started to be documented by La Gazette Du Bon Ton (La Gazette of Good Taste), almost one century ago. Times changed and today, we feel like saying "and La Gazette du Mauvais gout"?(La Gazette of Bad taste). As Friedrich Nietzsche said " Bad taste has as much rights than Good taste". We're cleaming it, Bad taste is more than ever the new good taste. The most bumpkins outfits and looks always become, one day or another, the coolest. And this is exactly what we're going to talk about here. "SMACK MY KITSCH UP!"Dora Moutot.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.usJe me rappelle l’année ou mon cousin a reçu un Super Soaker pour son anniversaire. Ce fut l’été de l’horreur. L’été de la violence à coup de jets d’eau. Mon cousin, un Super Soaker Assassin. Quoi ?

» Dora.

I remember the year when my cousin got a super soaker for his birthday. It was the summer of horror. The summer of water violence. My cousin became a super soaker assassin. What? Are you joking me? You don’t know what a super soaker is? Gosh, you’ve never been a kid or what? With a super soaker you can shoot ultra powerful water jet s and smash in your brother glasses from 10 meters of distance. A super soaker makes the classical water gun look like shit. Hopefully for me, the next summer, the super soaker was abandoned by my cousin and died in the garage. Others people stayed with their super soaker. Chris Reid is one of them. This big kid has a collection of more than 275 soaker with 170 unique designs.

I promises, when I will be a big girl I will organize a “La Gazette du Mauvais Gout” Party, and this day, everyone will be allowed to be a Chris Reid. We will all have super soakers in hands and we will jump on inflatable castles. And as said on isoaker.com, the password will be:”LEAVE NO ONE DRY!

Il me suivait partout, partout, partout. Dora.

When I was 15, I was thinking that it was incredibly cool to offer animals as a gift to my friends. Obviously, I was the only one. For the Saint Valentine, I offered to my lover a lovely red fish with a postcard. I wrote “This fish is the metaphor of our love. If the fish die, I will leave you. I love you. Dora” For the birthday of my friend Cecile, I found that it was a great idea to bough her a chick. Of course, I didn’t think about him becoming a bulky hen. Cecile refused my gift saying “Seriously Dora, what am I suppose to do with a chick?”. So I had to take him home and I became his mother. For real. He was following me everywhere, everywhere, everywhere! What was not very cute was that every 15 meters he was dropping a weird green mush and that the ground of the flat was made of wall to wall carpet. So, you can imagine that of course, my mother was not very happy to discover my “new son” at home. That’s why I had to leave him at the Pony-club of my town. Because it was the only place to have a henhouse. I hope that my little chick had a good life. Anyway, when I see this little colored chicks, I’m really thinking about doing the same mistake again...

I HATE MY PARENTS. Dora.

I always tough that it should be forbidden to fuck to have a kid without having a legal authorization. I think that government is wrong when they want to do reforms about children education. The problem is not coming from here. The problem is coming from “before”. Education of the parents. We should have a school about “how becoming a parent”. Seriously, it doesn’t come just like that. It’s not magic. Just take a look about the pictures of this blog, and you will get what I’m talking about.
I HATE MY PARENTS.

Eric Pougeau, merci... Dora.

What a good surprise when the artist Eric Pougeau sent me a message on facebook telling me he was reading and appreciating my blog. The best present that someone ever gave to me is” Son of a bitch”, the Eric Pougeau book . You know, this feeling, when you read or look at something and you think “Yeah, this is it, this brilliant, this perfect, how did I leave without knowing about that?

Eric Pougeau seems to me like an old Peter Pan. A bit life scratched. Hurt. I’m very touched by his work because of his ability to mix childhood and violence. His work is like a tale becoming a nightmare. Morbid and innocent at the same time. Eric Pougeau tell us a story trough his work, a story full of secrets: The story of a kid who lived his childhood as something difficult, who leaved in fear, anxiety and violence and who missed the boat when you became an adult. He’s telling us with the amount of provocation, humor, absurdity and cynicism required the story of an adult eternally a child. I recognized myself very much his is work, in the violence and the childish madness that come from it. He made something material of this feeling of a stolen childhood. He gave a shape, words to my feelings that I never knew how to express. Sometimes I even have the feeling that Eric Pougeau secretly soak in my unconscious and that some of his pieces are made just for me.

Eric Pougeau, thank you. ..
