Dora Moutot.

Fashion started to be documented by La Gazette Du Bon Ton (La Gazette of Good Taste), almost one century ago. Times changed and today, we feel like saying "and La Gazette du Mauvais gout"?(La Gazette of Bad taste). As Friedrich Nietzsche said " Bad taste has as much rights than Good taste". We're cleaming it, Bad taste is more than ever the new good taste. The most bumpkins outfits and looks always become, one day or another, the coolest. And this is exactly what we're going to talk about here. "SMACK MY KITSCH UP!"Dora Moutot.

Dora.

From 7 to 14 years old, I lived in Germany. German kids are not like the others. I don t know for you but for me, it was a big deal to have the right schoolbag. Your schoolbag was your business card and if you had an old fashioned schoolbag, you knew you would be in a big deep shit for the rest of the year.

When I say Germans are specials, it's because for them the story of the schoolbag works in the opposite way. The more your bag is redneckish and kitschy, the more you re the king of the school. Seriously, it was super hard to escape from the German schoolbag, because in shops it was the only schoolbag you could find. My mother was so chocked about German aesthetic. Not only by schoolbags, but clothes, haircuts and everything. I let you imagine Germany in 1994. My mother use to dress me a little posh with French classic brands. Well ,she had to change her criterias there. Anyway, the German kid comes with a German package. Not only that he has a very kitschy schoolbag, but also a pencil case, not a normal one, a flat one, where you can line ups your pencils in a "Hi Hitler" style. Of course the pencil case design matches the schoolbag. More than that, the German kid always have a flask to drink in who is in tune with the schoolbag and the pencil case. These people never drink in bottles. Don 't asks me why. But the best of the story is the price of the schoolbag. If you are a bit logical, something with that level of bad taste(Let s be clear, I considered these schoolbags as amazing collector’s items today) should not be that expensive. Well, no, to understand how the Germans are serious about it, just look at the tag. PAF, 160 Euros! And 90 pour 100 of German kids are wearing it and I m not joking! The original brand is named Scout, but Germany is full of copy of Scout, named Big Box or Mc Neil. Enjoy these delicious Germanic masterpieces!

GERMANY, I WILL ALWAYS HAVE YOU IN THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART
