Hum, I'm such a nerd.)
Elle a été élu parmi "the most stylish New Yorkers" Par le New York Times.
INTERVIEW.
So, tell me, what do you think about magazines lately?
To be honest, I don't buy fashion magazines! I'm inspired by a million things- abstract art, chaos, my philosophies and music. I can see all the runway collections directly online and don't wait for another editor to interpret them for me, I do it myself, and interpret them for my readers. Although I do think that David Vandewal and Michelle Jank are very talented stylists.
What do you want to see in fashion that is not around at the moment?
I would like to see more fun in fashion editorials.
How would you describe your style?
Chaotic, colorful and progressive
Which trends are you into right now? What do you think is going to be big fashion wise?
I follow my own gut when it comes to trends and I can tell you what I think SHOULD be big, but I have a hard time understanding the whims of the average consumer so I can't tell you what WILL be big. Trends I love are mixing patterns, layering and exaggerated silhouettes.

What are you favorites brands? Designers?
Designers I like are: Romance Was Born (Article de la Gazette du Mauvais gout à propos de la marque, ici), John Galliano, Libertine (Si vous ne conaissez pas, à checker d'urgence), Proenza Shouler to name a few. I appreciate most designers who work with a sense of bravery.
What's your background? How did you get into fashion?
I grew up in very liberal little town in Australia called Byron Bay. Although I had very strict parents I was exposed to a lot of people who were fearless with their ideals and often chose to lead lives that were irregular. It influenced me a lot. Also, my Dad is a straight up weirdo who wears ice cream cartons on his head, dyes his own shoes and builds houses out of No Gap Glue. He just doesn't give a fuck.I'm pretty sure I inherited that gene. As for the fashion industry, I don't see myself as a 'stylist' per se. I'm an artist who works through the medium of fashion and performance. It sounds trite, but how I got into the industry was through hard work, creating my own opportunities, determination and delivering a niche product.
How did you meet all these "electro punk chicks": Peaches, Chicks on speed etc?
My friends and I started an creative collective and would basically pitch ideas to artists we thought were amazing. We created one off couture garments for the Chicks on Speed and I was a back up dancer for Peaches in front of 40,000 people. I also toured as support act (singing and dancing) for The Gossip national tour.
In what kind of music are you into?
I love 80's music, new wave electro, punk, and modern pop! I digging Ke$ha right now! I'm always writing lyrics and creating characters. Who knows, maybe I'll release a pop album!
Tell us a bit about fashion and art in Australia! Good designers, artists we should be aware of?
Australia has a very progressive fashion and music scene. I think the isolation really makes you push yourself to be able to compete on an international level. Designers to google are Elliot Ward Fear, Jaime Lee Major, Discount, Romance Was Born, Dion Lee and Tina Kalivas. Of course you have to listen to the Presets and Cut Copy.
Do you read blogs? Online magazines?
Blogs I read are No Discount ( A regarder absolument, je suis mega fan aussi), Your blog of course, Sister Wolf, Obnoxious Owl, Garbage Dress to name a few, Oh and I read D listed, haha!
And to end up, my favorite question, what does bad taste mean to you?
This question is something that inspires my work everyday! Bad taste so subjective, and that's the beauty of it. I cannot define bad taste, but I aim to raise question "What IS good and bad taste?" until the day I die.
